Click here for resources Look at videos on activation energy an coenzymes and cofactors.
Homework
1. Work through Chapter 4 questions
2. Listen to Douchy's podcast on enzymes. At the end he summarises the main points he thinks you should know about enzymes.
No 4
Bulk Transport
The movement of macromolecules such as proteins or polysaccharides into or out of the cell is called bulk transport. There are two types of bulk transport, exocytosis and endocytosis, and both require the expenditure of energy (ATP). In exocytosis, materials are exported out of the cell via secretory vesicles.

No 5
Recepto mediated endocytosis is triggered by repceptor binding with receptor proteins or neurotransmitters in the cell membrane.
No 8
No 6
Answer is B. I was wrong. Reason: Any reaction that requires energy uses an enzyme to make the reaction occur faster. A membrane protein requires energy in active transport and helps speed up the reaction therefore this is an example of enzymatic activity. As Sharon correctly commented oxygen uptake does happen by diffusion.
